Our Partnership with Save the Kiwi: A Shared Commitment to Protecting New Zealand's Wildlife

At Addiction Pet Foods, our love for animals goes beyond our customers' best friends. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with Save the Kiwi, an organization dedicated to protecting one of New Zealand’s most iconic species: the kiwi. 

Why This Partnership Matters 
For those who may not be familiar, Save the Kiwi is a vital force in the fight to protect our national treasure. Kiwi populations are facing significant challenges, including introduced predators like stoats, habitat loss, and the dangers posed by roaming dogs. As a result, the kiwi is now considered endangered, with a population of only about 68,000 left in the wild, continuing to decline by around 2% each year. 
This is where Save the Kiwi comes in. Their dedicated efforts include predator control, habitat restoration, and public education to ensure the future of this beloved bird. But there’s still much to be done, and we at Addiction Pet Foods are honored to be part of this crucial work. 

The Urgency of the Kiwi’s Protection 
Sadly, without intervention, the kiwi’s future is uncertain. It’s heartbreaking to think that if we don’t take action, we could lose this unique species forever. In areas where predators aren’t controlled, a staggering 95% of kiwi chicks don’t make it to adulthood. 
As a company that proudly calls New Zealand home, we understand that the protection of the kiwi is not just about saving a bird — it’s about safeguarding our environment and preserving the balance of our ecosystems. If we don’t act now, future generations may never experience the joy of hearing the iconic call of the kiwi in our forests.
